James K. Rao, Sr.

Chairman and Co-Founder

Jim is Chairman and co-Founder of The Nexxus Group® and was instrumental in starting the company in 2003. He provides more than 20 years of experience as well as strategic and visionary leadership. A mentor to all, he advocates shared learning, transparent communication and programs, and simply explained well-executed business plans.

A native of Everett, MA, Jim began his professional career as a route driver for Frito Lay. During a 14-year tenure with Frito Lay he held several positions of increasing importance including District Manager and then Zone Manager where he managed a $100+ million territory. He then became President and CEO of a New England regional chip company. Upon leaving the salty snack business he became a principal in an office supply business group and remained Vice President of Sales when the company was sold to Corporate Express. Prior to co-founding The Nexxus Group®, Jim co-founded, managed and sold a corporate premium company.

Jim now resides in Beverly, MA and never passes up a chance to visit Las Vegas. He enjoys handicapping horse races, golf and comedy. Jim has a son, daughter, son-in-law, grandson and French Bulldogs. He was married for 27 years before his wife regrettably passed away in 2005.

Mark joined The Nexxus Group® in 2009 as COO and General Counsel. He oversaw the operations, legal, finance and human services functions of the company before transitioning to CEO in 2013. Mark began his career as a legislative aide to the late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan of New York in the late 1980s and brought more than 20 years of business and legal experience as an entrepreneur and attorney to Nexxus. He founded and sold two successful athletic apparel companies in the early 2000s, then established the boutique law firm Corporate Legal Partners with his wife in 2003 to provide part-time general counsel services to mid-cap companies. He joined a global digital media start-up as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel in 2008 before joining The Nexxus Group® in October 2009.

Mark is a graduate of St. Lawrence University (B.A., Government) and the Dickinson School of Law and resides in Boxford, MA with his wife and their three children. His hobbies include boating, fishing and reading and he enjoys traveling with his family, especially to his favorite vacation spot in Maine.

Rino co-founded The Nexxus Group® in 2003 and is responsible for maintaining, enhancing and expanding relationships between retailers and vendors as well as identifying opportunities that add value to the organization. Rino played a key role throughout the acquisition process of the company’s new state-of-the-art Corporate Headquarters building in Beverly, MA.

Before founding Nexxus, Rino accumulated 24 years of experience in the newspaper industry at a mid-size daily in the suburban Boston market where he held a number of titles, including Director of Circulation. His responsibilities included sales, marketing and distribution. He was part of an eight-person acquisition team that bid to buy three daily newspapers in the Boston market in 2002.

The Danvers, MA native is a graduate of Salem State College (B.S., Business Administration) and resides on the North Shore of Boston with his wife and three children. He enjoys outdoor activities and traveling and will vacation anywhere with palm trees, beaches and great restaurants.



Russ Fant


Russ joined The Nexxus Group® in 2007 as VP of Sales and oversaw the Sales Team, then took on responsibilities as Director of Marketing and Customer Service before being named President in 2013. Russ spent five years after college working for Marriott International in a number of management roles then joined USA TODAY in 1996 as a manager for retail sales and marketing in the Washington, DC, Nashville, TN and Chicago, IL regional markets. From 2004 through 2007 he was Retail Sales Manager for the Charlotte (NC) Observer, managing all aspects of newspaper sales and delivery outside of home delivery. His 12 years of newspaper circulation experience is a key component to Nexxus’ success.

Russ is a graduate of James Madison University (BBA, Hotel and Restaurant Management). He resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife and three sons. He coaches soccer, enjoys playing golf, skiing and spending time with his family — and vacations at Whistler Mountain in British Columbia whenever possible.


PatLinkedInPat McGinley

Chief Operating Officer

Pat joined The Nexxus Group® in October 2014 bringing with him an expansive background in customer support, electronic engineering and business management. Pat earned a degree in Electronic Engineering from Lincoln Technical Institute in Allentown, PA and holds MIT Sloan certificates in “Fundamentals of Finance for the Technical Executive” and “Essential Law for Executives: The MIT Advantage.” A native of Pennsylvania, Pat was born in Allentown and raised in Bethlehem.

Pat enjoys spending time with his family, photography, sports, Broadway plays, and learning. He and his wife have resided in Danvers, MA since 1986.


JohnLaraJohn Lara

Chief Information Officer

John joined The Nexxus Group® in January 2014, bringing extensive experience in how business and computer technology interact, software development and product architecture. He has worked in newspaper prepress, healthcare information management and Internet consulting services.

John is a graduate of Boston University and leads The Nexxus Group technology initiatives. His responsibilities include all software development that supports our customers and ensuring the reliability and security of our systems and infrastructure. John’s favorite quote is “Talent wins games but teamwork wins championships.”

A native of Miami, John grew up in Montreal. He enjoys backpacking the White Mountains and a good game of cribbage as well as vacationing with his family in Greece and the Caribbean. If he wasn’t working at Nexxus you might find him hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.

Chief Financial Officer

Bill joined The Nexxus Group in November 2016 and will play a key strategic and financial role in the company’s continued growth.

He served in the same capacity for Micropore, Inc. of Elkton, MD. He was previously a member of the finance faculty at Bentley University; served in a number of roles at Polaroid Corporation where he helped carve out Polaroid’s R&D Group to form ZINK Imaging.

Bill holds a BS in Finance and a PhD in Economics from Arizona State University and a CPA (MA).  He is a pretty decent golfer, is actively involved in the Special Needs community and enjoys reading.  He and his wife Christy have three adult daughters and reside in Bedford, MA.



Cynthia McCarthy Ginman

Vice President of Sales Operations

Cynthia joined The Nexxus Group® in April 2008 as Director of Sales and was promoted to Vice President of Sales in 2010.  Prior to joining our team, Cynthia worked as a regional and national circulation manager for The Wall Street Journal, and as a national marketing and sales manager for USA TODAY.  Leveraging more than 20 years of previous operations, wholesale and retail experience, Cynthia quickly became a driving force in the company’s rise to become the industry leader in Scan Based Trading.

As the company grew, Cynthia was asked in 2012 to lead the information technology team as Vice President of IT.  Her deep understanding of technology and data, along with her intimate knowledge of our clients’ businesses made her the obvious choice to manage the deployment of our IT resources.  In 2014, Cynthia’s title was changed to VP of IT Services to better reflect scope of her involvement in managing projects for our valued clients.

At the beginning of 2017, Cynthia has again changed hats, returning to manage the sales force as Vice President of Sales Operations.  Her keen ability to guide the sales process and her unparalleled understanding of the interactions between the business and technology sides will be a great benefit to our team and our customers.

Cynthia is a graduate of Felician College. Originally from New Jersey, Cynthia was raised in view of the Manhattan skyline and professes to be a city girl at heart. In 2001, she moved to the country and currently resides in Loudoun County, Virginia with her husband and three children.  She is active in her church and her interests include reading mystery novels and cooking.  Cynthia is known to embarrass her kids by singing in the grocery store.


 Don Bunch

 Director of Account Management

Don has been with The Nexxus Group® since 2009. Prior to Nexxus, he established his career working with national publishers in various sales and circulation roles primarily focused on new  account growth and retention. Don holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Georgia State University and enjoys sports, reading and movies. When he wants to get away for a little R&R, he prefers the warm weather of Hawaii, Atlantis and sunny Northern California.

Don is a native of Atlanta, GA and currently resides there with his wife and their two children.

Director of Sales

When Allan joined The Nexxus Group® in 2009, he brought a deep background in operations and retail sales gained at national newspapers such as the Austin American-Statesman, Houston Chronicle and USA Today and at Auto Trader Classics publications. At Nexxus, he maintains relationships with prospective retail partners in the Convenience, Grocery, Drug, and Mass Merchandiser segments to share top-level EDI programs; and works closely with current retail partners on Scan Based Trading, EDI, POS analysis, price catalogue management, and Category Optimization.

The Texas native resides in Katy, TX with his wife. They have two sons, a daughter and two grandchildren. Allan holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and University of Houston-Downtown. He is active in his church and in the Boy Scouts of America and enjoys football, basketball and vacationing in Estes Park, CO.
