DANVERS, Massachusetts (September 19, 2012) — Mid-Atlantic Convenience Stores (MACS) has become the latest regional convenience store chain to partner with The Nexxus Group, an industry-leading provider of Scan Based Trading solutions.
A major re-branding initiative will bring MACS 71 company-owned stores under the umbrella of Circle K as the exclusive Circle K developer in the Mid-Atlantic. The Nexxus Group scan based trading program will manage the newspaper category at the 71 MACS Mid-Atlantic stores. The stores previously operated under the Uppy’s, Tiger Mart and On The Run brands. The program with The Nexxus Group will commence on Monday, November 19, 2012.
Connecticut-based Catterton Partners, a premier consumer-focused private equity firm, formed MACS in 2010. MACS acquired a majority interest in Uppy’s Convenience Stores, Inc. in 2010 along with 170 stores/fuel locations from ExxonMobil. MACS has approximately 300 company-owned and dealer-operated retail locations as well as a wholesale fuel distribution network.
